FCCI thrived in 2020
“We are delighted to see Cina thrive in her role,” said Jack Cox, FCCI’s Chairman of the Board. “We look forward to what Cina’s leadership will bring to FCCI in the coming years.”
On Thursday, June 25, 2020, Cina Welch became FCCI Insurance Group’s President and CEO. Cina joined FCCI in 1998 as an attorney and has held varied and progressively complex leadership roles during her tenure at FCCI.
Cina has more than 22 years of experience in the insurance industry. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida, her Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law, and is a member of the Florida Bar. Cina also holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
During Cina’s time at FCCI, her understanding of and commitment to FCCI’s mission, values and corporate culture – along with her insurance, regulatory and legal experience – have been instrumental in maintaining a steadfast focus on FCCI’s rich legacy.
Some of Cina’s notable accomplishments at FCCI include:
- Becoming the first female President & CEO in the 62-year history of FCCI;
- Leading business continuity efforts, including the complicated COVID-19 response;
- Establishing and holding the position as first Chief Risk Officer at FCCI;
- Becoming Chief Security Officer in charge of data and all other security programs; and
- Supporting Florida Workers’ Compensation Insurance Guaranty Association as a board member since August of 2012.
FCCI: A community with purpose and unlimited potential. We are a group of individuals who choose to be part of this amazing team.
Cina’s leadership style is one of authenticity, empathy, clarity and strong presence. She is straightforward and open in her communication style, balanced with a consultative management style. Transparency is essential: she wants people to know what’s going on – the good as well as the challenges.
As FCCI’s new President and CEO, Cina advanced FCCI’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) as her first priority. “These times and our core principles demand focused attention in these areas,” she affirmed in an internal email to all teammates. Two weeks into her new role, Cina asked teammates to volunteer to help chart the course for FCCI’s DE&I future. “FCCI is fully committed to maintaining a culture where everyone is treated with respect and where diversity is sought, accepted and valued.” Cina expressed.

Being an engaged and supportive partner remains core to FCCI’s work. “I am well aware that FCCI’s marketplace success is dependent on the success of our independent agencies and policyholders,” she said. “Our focus will continue to be – as it has been for more than 60 years – helping our agents and policyholders be successful.”
Under Cina’s leadership the company continues to deepen existing relationships and create new connections. Her leadership, vision and strategy, along with her giving, encouraging and engaging spirit, foretell a bright and long-term future at FCCI and within the industry.
